A fantastic supporting cast full of great actors and a handful of laughs can’t save this flick from becoming tiresome after the first 30 minutes. It started out ok, a few chuckles here and there, but after a bit of time I grew tired of the whole thing. Is Kat Dennings gonna play herself in everything? It seems so. Is Malin Akerman ever gonna realise she isn’t funny and stop wasting her talents in these dumb comedies? It seems unlikely. Not the worst comedy ever but also nothing at all great about it either. Below average.

Kind of a meandering mess of a movie with tonal issues.
Is Chelsea Peretti typecast or did she leave Brooklyn 99 so she could play the same character in other projects? Because she is playing Gina.
Most of this movie is forgettable, but the Fairy Gay Mother's scene with Kat Dennings, Wanda Sykes, Margaret Cho, and Fortune Feimster was hilarious.

Malin Åkerman gets yet another mom role but at least she’s the lead here and carries the majority of the film cojoined with Kat Dennings’ fresh-out-of-the-closet lesbian bff. really really like their chemistry, but neither one gets to truly showcase their talent here with such weak writing. unfunny and weirdly shot like a reality tv show, which doesn’t do the already strained comedy any service. there are some genuine self-realization bits but overall it fails to develop the characters in a meaningful way you haven’t seen (& done better) dozens of times before.I can recommend Dollface with Dennings & Åkerman though, an awesome, quirky show at hulu with much better breakup discourse.

Dramatically a little weak, but it's a straight-to-VOD movie called Friendsgiving; it's worthwhile if there's an adequate amount of laughs, unless you're someone who has 12 Angry Men and 2001: A Space Odyssey in your top 4 and owns a Criterion t-shirt — and in that case, no judgment here, but why watch Friendsgiving?
