Get some Plastic for your Kitchen!

I am not an avid baker. Every now and then I’ll get the urge to bake something from scratch. That doesn’t happen often though. I just don’t want to have to go rooting through the baking cupboard to see if I have all of the ingredients I need. Then there’s the mess from all of the measuring and mixing. Ahhh….
Then in comes a new Direct Sales company to Canada called “Do You Bake?”. My friend Cheryll and her son have started up their own Do You Bake? business and held an online Grand Opening Party not too long ago. I decided to have a look at the products they had to offer and found myself filling my online shopping cart with mixes for brownies, cakes, cookies, etc. So many options to choose from and you don’t have to know how to bake or mess up your kitchen to do it. And the company uses all natural ingredients. No chemicals or preservatives. So it tastes like it’s been made from scratch. Thumbs up from me!
I decided tonight was the night to put one of those products to the test. My daughter had been bugging me to make rice pudding for a while, so I decided to make the Comforting Rice Pudding from Do You Bake?.
It was relatively simple to make. Boil the rice with water until it’s absorbed and then add 1 cup of milk at a time and stir until a full 3 cups of milk has been absorbed into the rice. Add some vanilla and raisins and it’s done. It also came with a cinnamon/sugar topping to sprinkle on top. Very yummy!
Head on over to Cheryll and Ryan’s Facebook Page and tell them I sent you. Then check out all of the amazing mixes they have to offer. You won’t be asking yourself if you can bake anymore.
Happy baking!

Still cooking with my Stack Cooker. I decided to make a little treat snack for the kids the morning after a sleepover with their cousin.
Don’t these look good???
Here’s how I made these yummy sticky buns:
Using the Stack Cooker 3/4 Casserole (the lid), I melted 1/2 cup of butter in the microwave at MEDIUM power for a couple of minutes. On the melted butter I sprinkled 1/2 cup of brown sugar and 1 tsp. of Tupperware’sSimple Indulgence™ Cinnamon-Vanilla Seasoning Blend. Then I just placed one can of 10 Pillsbury Biscuits on top and cooked it in the microwave on HIGH power for 4 minutes. I have an 1100 Watt Microwave, so you may need to adjust the time cooked in your own microwave.
These were so good. The kids loved them! Sweet, sticky and gooey. What a great morning treat for a group of kids. And Mom and Dad too!

My 4 year old daughter LOVES omelettes. She would have them every day if I let her. We usually would only make them for her on weekends. Who has time to make a good omelette before school? Not me! I’ll admit, I’m not the best omelette maker. When I cook an omelette the traditional way, it’s usually overcooked on the outside and not cooked enough in the middle.
I recently got the Tupperware Breakfast Maker so we made omelettes on the weekend to try it out. Two minutes in the microwave and my daughter had a healthy cheese omelette in front of her. She loved it and proceeded to tell me that it was the best omelette I have ever made for her. Never turn down praise from a 4 year old. It does not come often. Now apparently she wants omelettes every day before school since I can make them in only 2 minutes. Finally she can have a healthy breakfast quick and easy.

I was skeptical about this actually working, but you CAN actually bake a cake in the microwave and it turned out great.
Tupperwave Stack Cooker Cake
Ingredients:
- Any flavour boxed cake mix
- Any flavour canned pie filling
- 3 eggs
Mix all of the ingredients in a large Thatsa Bowl. Pour batter into a greased 3 qt. Stack Cooker casserole with the cone inserted. Microwave for 18 minutes at 80% power. Let stand to cool and then invert onto your Cake Taker base.
We made ours last night with White Cake Mix and Strawberry Pie Filling. It was really good! I was pleasantly surprised that it actually worked. The cake was light and fluffy. Not rubbery at all like I expected from “baking” it in the microwave.
Here’s what it looked like when it came out of the stack cooker:
I probably could have mixed the batter a little better.
The kids want to try different flavour combinations, so I’ll be watching out for sales on cake mix and pie filling.
