We think that teachers deserve more love than they typically get — they’ve taught our kids long division, broken up classroom arguments, and helped inspire us to achieve our wildest dreams (according to my 9th grade English teacher Mrs. Carney, she always knew I was going to be writer, so there!).
After you’ve scoured the shopping malls and online stores to find the perfect gift for your S.O., don’t forget to find a gift for your child’s teacher. They spend so much time time with your kids every day, and even getting them a little something can go a long way to show how much you appreciate all the work they do.
But what’s an appropriate gift that they’ll actually like and use? Well, we talked to a former 6th grade teacher from Long Island, Erica Hellman, and asked what teachers want the most. “Typically, besides gift cards (which are always wanted), we’d like something that we can actually utilize in the classroom.” Hellman says that supplies and decorations for the classroom can be a big out-of-pocket expense, so it’s always nice when a present is both thoughtful and practical. “Self-care items are also a great go-to.”

Homesick Book Club Candle
